A Latte for the Books

I feel (by the unnerving twitch I developed very early this morning) that the sugar-to-steamed milk ratio in my latte last night was all wrong.

It's a Warm House Party

Cory and I have decided that our new place is abnormally cold and drafty. So tomorrow afternoon we’re gonna resolve the problem by having a house warming party. It’s our hopes that the grease and mud on the bottom of your shoes, the stink in your fart, and your dirty dishes carelessly placed throughout the house will somehow, someway, make it warmer. I don’t quite understand how that works, but apparently it’s been a part of moving into a new place for tens of hundreds of thousands of years.

Who am I to second-guess the soundness of tradition?

So if you feel you are an exceptionally warm person with lots of warmth to offer and you think you’ll be in the Encinitas area, or maybe your cheap ass just want a free tri-tip dinner… come one, come all…

Made It

Rest easy kids... I made it.

Twenty miles in just over three hours. Pine Ave in Carlsbad to south Del Mar (just shy of the monsterous Torry Pines State Park) and then back up to Solana Beach. 10 am to ~1 pm (3:10 ?).

To Make It, Or To Not Make It...

Today is a make it or break it kind of day.

Today I will tie my shoes a bit tighter and stretch a bit longer. Today is the day I shall attempt running 20 miles. If I make it I will fork over $80 and sign up for the Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon on the sixth, bringing myself one step closer to realizing the goal I set for myself this year. If I break it… well, if I break it I guess I’ll see you at the beer garden on the sixth, awkwardly never speaking about my failure, but enjoying the race, music, and beer nonetheless.
